Well it's interesting that all the pics you posted have copyright dates of 2002-2004. I seem to find that with some rare exceptions, the older BGE material has more "kink" (as you put it) than much of the newer stuff. I can't quite put my finger on why that is, but that's my humble opinion. The newer stuff is just... blander.
