Mentallo

Tommy Lee Curtis, 6'1", 213#, unsuccessfully challenged CWE champ "The Galaxy's Own" Mentallo, 5'8", 191#, on Sunday in Winnipeg. For the record, Mentallo is neither Mexican nor a lucha-libre-style performer. Although he has trained in Mexico, he considers Japanese pro wrestling to be the bigger influence on him, and last year he fulfilled his dream of wrestling in Japan. He copped his name from Marvel's X-Men comic books, an identity he claimed as a person of color to avoid being stereotyped by promoters as a rapper, a pimp, or a break dancer.  (Photos: Jordan Nepon)
