Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup 11

Last Saturday Sami Callihan won Maryland Championship Wrestling's Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup in one of those crowded brawls that I often find incomprehensible and thus a bit boring, though they do make for a grand and colorful parade of wrestling talent and eye candy. The competition honors Shane Shamrock, who was gunned down in 1998 just a month after winning MCW's first Light Heavyweight Championship (the belt was immediately retired in his honor), ending a five-year career in the ring. At this year's event, local (NC) bad boy Aden Chambers sustained a serious leg injury which will keep him out of the game for months. (Get well soon, AC!)  Callihan and "American Psycho" Josh Daniels were the last two men in the ring Saturday, surrounded by the disqualified competitors, lumberjack fashion.
