PWI published its list of the top 500 wrestlers of 2012. As usual, I recognize only about half of them, not keeping up with "straight" pro wrestling all that well, apparently. I love lists like this because I like "best of" lists in general and PWI's annual listing often suggests names of wrestlers I might be interested in who, for whatever reasons, have not yet popped up on my radar. For understandable reasons, PWI favors wrestlers signed with the big companies (WWE, TNA Impact, ROH) and physically bigger wrestlers--the small guys get mentioned, more often than not, in the bottom half of the list. Here's my condensed version of the list, handpicking the names on PWI's list that I count among my personal favorites. The number in parentheses denotes PWI's ranking this year.
