Bad News

On Thursday Movimus Wrestling released the following diplomatically phrased statement:
As some of our customers may have noticed, searching for Jeff Jordan yields zero results on MovimusWrestling.com and for a very good reason. We have reached a point where we will no longer sell any matches featuring Jeff Jordan. While it is regrettable, nonetheless, we want to be supportive of his future endeavors.
The very good reason is left unstated. Jordan has not shot a new video at Movimus for almost three years. Perhaps his future endeavors are such that his predominantly gay male audience would be unwelcome baggage. A few years back, a visitor to this blog reported the young wrestler's rude, even homophobic response to fan mail complimenting his physique. That accusation of homophobia, soon corroborated by a second source, persuaded me to stop blogging about the young wrestler until recently.

In 2013 Jeff Jordan was, in addition to his nice body, terrific on the mat. He threw himself into his matches with the kind of abandon and exuberance I have praised in wrestlers like Eli Black and Mark Lander, making short work of almost all his opponents. He mugged and posed for the camera with photogenic ease. If I'm honest with myself, the possibility that he was (or still is) bad news is something of a turn-on for me too, not one I'm proud of.

Here, briefly, are my three favorite of Jordan's Movimus appearances. These are the ones I'll remember him by. Like Movimus, I wish him success and bid him farewell. If the rumors about him are true, I hope he learns to let go of his intolerance and hate.

Easily my favorite is his match against Richie Towler.
A close second is his match against Marco Talus.
His match against Max Anderson is a particularly great loss because it is one of Max's finest bouts post NHB-Battle.

  1. "Jeff Jordan" is indy pro wrestler Sammy Guevara.

  2. I agree that if he is a homophobe, I hope that he learns a different path in the future. But I do think it's a little nuts that a homophobe would have shot a wrestling video that, while not particularly gay unto itself, was clearly going to be viewed mostly by gay men for spank bait.

Separately, I do miss Max Anderson. Although he is wonderfully handsome, I truly enjoyed his wrestling, both the many matches in which he was dominant and the numerous matches in which he was made to tap out. He wrestled so many times against so many different wrestlers (including multiple matches against each Brock Hammer, Sandro Vinnari, Mikey Hanlon, Connor Flynn and others). One of my favorite things is a series of matches between 2 wrestlers. They develop a feud and story line, even in real submission wrestling, that makes it more compelling as time goes by. Since it has been 2 years since Movimus had a Max Anderson release, after he spent more than a decade being their most prolific performer, I assume he is probably in a well-deserved retirement. Understandable, but regrettable. The dream of a few more Max matches slowly fades over time.

  3. I still hope I can get a copy of his match with Towler. It looked like a really good match.

By the way, does anybody know who Richie Towler really is?

    1. What's your real name if you want his. It's no ones business who their real name is.

    2. It took me a while to realize how wrong I was in my behavior. I'm sorry for how I acted here. I shouldn't have done that.

Admin, you have every right to delete that previous comment.

  4. im kinda sad by this but also not surprised. I think i remember the incident a few years ago when "jeff" was outted on social media. yes its not right for him to be homophobic especailly when it comes to the fans. Obviously you know who the audience is and you shouldnt be surprised when they come looking for you. That being said though, i kinda remember the initial exchange was a tad disturbing. from what i remember 'Jeff" wasnt the only one at fault. I saw the so called fan mail and even i thought it was a tad creepy. i think we have to remember as fans that some of these guys do it for only the money and we should be careful. Not all of them want to be hit on or flirted with. yes they put themselves out there but also they are entilted to a degree of privacy. thats why most of them wrestle under false names and we are able to comment as anonymous. When it all unfolded on social media, if we are talking about the same story, was a disaster for 'Jeff" and the fan alike. when the fan was shunned he went and started tagging "jeff" in posts linked to his matches. Personally from a fans stand point is in really bad taste. You may want that slim chance of hipe that the wrestler you are pining after feels the same way about you, but thats hardly the case. but outting them like that if they are gay or not is just wrong. The fan called for action boycotting movimus( which i do normally because im not much of a fan)as well as tagging "jeffs" personal facebook and people followed suit. i think actions like that give us fans a bad name. we are entitled to hide who we are on here so they should be in real life also. Seperating the videos from their real life. personally i like to live in the fantasy of all these guys would wrestle me and leave it at that. plus i enjoy "jeff" in the pro pro setting then in the "No holds barred" movimus does.

  5. He is my favorite movimus wrestler. I am not aware of these rumors, but i hope they are wrong. I saw his youtube channel and he looks a great guy for me.

  6. Anonymous, I agree. I think most people- unfortunately, not all- understand that these wrestlers are actually normal people outside of their videos. They have regular jobs, families, friends, etc. Trying to force their ring or mat persona on the real person in the outside world (including online) is just wrong. Whether he's homophobic or not, Jeff Jordan didn't deserve the kind of treatment you describe. I appreciate what these wrestlers give to us as entertainment, and wish them all the best in their personal lives.

  7. I think that you shouldn't ask these guys real names. If they wanted us to know they would use them in their vids. Please don't post asking who they really are. Enjoy their work and leave it at that. No reason to out them in real life

  8. Thanks for the great comments, guys. As a rule I use the name of the persona the wrestler chooses to wrestle by. I'm dealing with fantasy, after all; I don't need the facts for that. Rarely I'll identify an alternative persona/pseudonym, but only when I'm fairly certain (e.g., have personally asked the wrestler) that the connection between the two personas is not supposed to be a secret.
