Chet Sterling vs Tracer X, 3 August 2016

I'm buying local on this one, a sweaty, high-flying match from a couple of days ago in Gibsonville, North Carolina, within hollering distance of my front porch.

Sterling (6'1", 196#) is a former bad guy from Raleigh, North Carolina, whom I have long admired for his sass and fight ability. He reminds me of a cross between Roderick Strong and Mr. Kennedy. Chet has been shedding his heel reputation lately ("I'm Different"), putting some distance between himself and former partner/mentor Trevor Lee.

Leaner and lighter, Tracer X is new to the company, but he's an instant sensation. This young hotshot ("X Gonna Give It to Ya") has the look and speed of the newer generation of pro wrestlers, not only in my neck of the woods, but internationally. He models himself after the greats of the X Generation of pro wrestling, notably Zack Sabre Jr. and Ricochet.

Starting on the mat with freestyle grappling, Chet and Tracer advance to tight corner work, dropkicks, sweaty slug-a-thons, and off-the-top-ropes derring-do, climaxing with a clean knockout. A hard chop to the jaw settles the situation the way Southern gentlemen like to do. These guys make me proud of North Carolina, the governor and crap politics aside.
