Lost and Found
Tyson the Hammer vs Malik, Match 526 (UCW)
This 33-minute two-out-of-three match is a little beauty. Tyson and Malik are in top form, body-wise and competition-wise. It's a jock-strap match, with straps the colors of flotation devices. There's a simple story, too, the kind of wrestling story I like. A friendly tussle gets out of hand. Somebody pushes too hard, thinks he can bend some rules in the interest of gaining the upper hand--ends up having to pay a price for behaving like a little bitch. Sweet comeuppance. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best storyline in wrestling.
I'm not sure who "lost" Match 526, but I'm glad it was found and made available for download. The selling of the holds gets better as the match progresses, and some rough treatment wipes the grins off the fighters' faces by midpoint. The eroticism seems tacked-on sometimes (for me wrestling is difficult to make un-erotic, so overkill is always a risk), but there are moments that genuinely blaze, thanks to Malik and Tyson.
