Blue / Red

This past week I viewed two recent and remarkably different Movimus releases - a rematch and a big-vs-little match. The narratives may echo pro ring angles, but, like everything at Movimus, these battles are real. The wrestlers work on pure mat savvy, without a script. Anything can happen, and what's on camera is exactly how it all played out with no embellishments - except for the sharp visuals in high-definition we have come to associate with East Coast Movimus, now classing up the West Coast.

Evan Turner vs Zachery Loftus, Rematch (Movimus)

Evan and Zachery go for five falls total in their second match. Expectations were high on this one - both wrestlers know what they're getting into and come prepared - and this match delivers, with long grueling holds and unexpected turns. Both fighters shine. Like the first, it's a battle between no-nonsense technician (Turner) and balls-to-the-wall wild man (Loftus), but the results are different.

Six-foot-seven Sam (in his third Movimus appearance) battles five-foot-five Shawn (his fifth). Talk about contrasts. And the contrasts go beyond height differences. We could as easily view this contest as strong upper body versus strong long legs - or vibrantly expressive (Shawn) versus quietly enigmatic (Sam). The combination is volatile, and the tussle runs for four falls.
