Eli vs Evan

An upbeat disposition, good looks, and tough offense make Eli Fisher my current favorite Movimus wrestler. Having taken on Tanner Martin and Jeremy Dobbs over the past three months, Eli shines in this match against Evan Turner, who, with a remarkably strong win record at  Movimus, puts the newcomer to his biggest test to date. Eli's background in college wrestling and improved physique serve him well against the tried-and-true Evan, who launched the promotion's Vegas satellite almost two years ago.

Eli and Evan both bring energy to the Movimus mat. Evan snubs Eli's offer of a sportsmanlike handshake at the match's start, skipping the niceties in favor of a quick lockup and a whirlwind of aggressive sallies. The attacks are swift and feisty from the start. In retaliation for Turner's initial rebuff, Fisher takes the guy down to the mat with an unceremonious thump, but Evan scissors the guy's waist securely and lightning fast. Ethan is a wily and prickly adversary, and Eli has his hands full trying to control him.

The frenzied scrabble veers off the mats and twice onto the draped sofa. The first fall by submission occurs nine minutes into the 25-minute fight. Five minutes later the score is 2 to 1. The guys wear and tear on each other, but the battle is never anything less than captivating and impassioned. The ending, though decisive, all but insists on a rematch.

  1. Wish that Movimus would invest in a ring or an arena for wrestling. Grappling all over the house is not a real wrestling match to me. It seems more like aimless "rolling around" than a serious match. Everyone to their own tastes, but I prefer Movimus to keep the muscle on their mats.
