Pretty in Pain 6: Jungle Edition

Jungle Boy vs DJZ, 400 Degreez (Game Changer Wrestling)

I prefer tight closeups of wrestlers, their faces contorted in prolonged misery, but there's an art too in playing one's agony large, with the whole body, mandatory in large venues or for high flyers like DJZ and Jungleboy. This match, which transpired a little over a week ago in Illinois, heats up about halfway through, though in the spirit of post-kayfabe the two wrestlers take their bows together in the end.

I take a keener interest when both heel and babyface are pretty, when they are, in fact, babyface and former babyface. The bitch slaps are more pungent when a former beauty takes his rage out on the too-cute-to-survive"flavor of the week." Here, the contrast is more emphatic with shaved head (DJZ) versus Whitesnake mane (Jungle Boy), guaranteeing that the baldy is going  to rip locks before the night is over. (DJZ throws in some back-raking and nostril-hooking for free.)

There's not a lot of wrestling here - and not a lot of sweat either. But the attacks and hardships are played large enough to rattle even the cheap seats. Especially in the last half, the pain's realistic enough to be felt in the bones.
