Reno Divorce

Zack Reno vs Jessie Lee, Match 684 (UCW)

We knew it wouldn't last. If we ever had any hopes for a Reno-and-Lee team, their match against A-listers Axel and Max revealed it for the pipe dream it was. Realistically, though, was Jessie to blame for the loss? Short of Eli Black, who could have partnered with Reno for a win against those guys? Even before Jessie shows up for Match 684, the tension in Zack's eyes as he paces the mat tells us the news isn't good. And this breakup is NOT going to be friendly.

Probably the last thing Jessie Lee should have said is that the loss was Zack's fault. He might as well as hang a noose around his neck as say such a thing ... out loud ... to Reno's face. When Zack suggests that the two "practice," we know he's gonna (somehow) turn this into a shit-kicking. It happens, but he takes his sweet time getting to the climactic beatdown. All the while, though, he's eviscerating the Singapore muscle-stud with his eyes.

Even if you missed their ill-fated stand against Axel and Max, you can see how ill-fitted they are for each other. Reno is a brooding roughneck. Lee is a smiling prettyboy whose muscle is for show. Lee does locate some of Zack's soft spots and takes advantage of them, but beginning around the midpoint, Reno fires himself up and blasts away at his ex with the kind of fury perhaps only disappointed exes can bring to a fight.

As usual for Jessie, his strong points are his tight trunks, front and back. Though Zack too is a fine-looking man all right, behind the soulful eyes and Elvis sideburns, he was born to bear a grudge, and this match tracks the eruption of his rage step by step - from barely concealed to barely survivable.
