Steve Mason vs Josh (Hunkswrestling)

It takes 58 minutes for the first and only fall of this match, the first wrestling video featuring Hunkswrestling's Steve Mason. It is delivered in three downloads at 15-24 minutes each, all sold together as one event. Steve's opponent is Josh, bigger and brawnier than the Spaniard, yet Steve holds his own as the two men wear each other out in a slow and grueling contest.

Matches like this one used to be the norm in underground wrestling - in the Old Reliable days and while Movimus was in operation (hopefully to return before too long, as the company promised over Thanksgiving). This is wrestling minus the show business. I find it relaxing to watch this kind of competition. I find it sexier than WWE and its imitators. And I don't think its value is strictly nostalgic, though memory does play a role in the way I watch such events.

For me, the battle's appeal is partly due to the extended body contact and partly to alpha-male machismo, undeniably a component in my fascination with all forms of wrestling and other martial arts and as thrilling to me as a close view of an active volcano or a Bengal tiger. It also doesn't hurt that Steve and Josh both are strikingly good looking. (To judge by the video resolution, I'd guess the match is about ten years old, yet I see no difference between this Steve and the one who wrestled at UCW this year.) It takes perseverance to last out nearly an hour of grappling - even with rest periods.

  1. For roughly how many minutes of the match does Josh have his shirt on? I don't understand why anyone would think it is good to hide Josh's body. Also, any idea why, if the resolution is not up to modern standards, it takes three downloads?

    1. Josh keeps his shirt only in the first video of 3. The idea of keeping his shirt was Josh's decision, since he expected a quick victory due to the difference in weight and size regarding his rival, he takes it off from the second video when he starts to sweat.
