Scrappy-go-lucky

Scrappy McNair vs Jaxx Thanatos, Catalog 18 - Balls to the Wall (MuscleBoy Wrestling)

Any wrestling promotion that has Scrappy on its roster has benefited from his presence in innumerable ways. He has been a lucky charm for everyone - his promoters, his antagonists, his fans. But no promotion has showcased and shaped his fight persona more than MuscleBoy Wrestling, and if Scrappy is not the model muscleboy, I ask you, "Who the fuck is?"

As for Jaxx, making his first appearance for MBW, I want him to be my henchman in supervillain fantasies or, failing at that, I'd happily be his heel manager. Thanatos  is a post-Freudian term for the "death instinct," that is, the impulse towards annihilation. Even the name makes me tremble. Jaxx Thanatos is ruggedly and impressively built, and he is a sexy and formidable thug. I can't argue with MuscleBoy's description of him as "a combination  of Henry Cavill and Stone Cold Steve Austin." (Slobber.)

Jaxx and Scrappy alike hit full stride once trunks are skinned off, leaving the two to battle bare-bottomed in jockstraps. This happens shortly before the 35-minute brawl's midpoint. Scrappy is all but eclipsed by Jaxx's massiveness, yet Scrappy being scrappy, he is largely undaunted, squaring off against him just as he would against a wrestler in his own weight class. In their own ways, both men are irresistible forces, splitting command of the mat almost equally between them. Jaxx pummeling Scrappy is scary, but Scrappy lifting Jaxx off the mat in an 18-second bear hug is miraculous. My hat and pants are off to both these wrestle-gods.
