El Fuego vs Steve Mason (Hunkswrestling)

Based in Spain, Hunkswrestling came to the USA for this rematch between Steve Mason and masked fire hazard El Fuego. The two fought at UCW last fall, and Bodyslam and Axel lent their wrestling ring for the two to finish what they started last time. Both men are closely matched in size and weight and at their best in this fight.

The emphasis is on chokes and ball grabs, but we see Fuego and Mason exhibit fancier holds, too, like Fuego's Gordian knot in the first screenshot. There's no clowning around in the 29-minute match. The two fight like their lives depend on it, and there's almost no dead space - the action rolls down like an avalanche. The dialogue - what little of it there is - is in Spanish, but it's not hard to follow what's happening here. Both are itching to fight the other, and they hold nothing back - jumping into the brawl on all fours.

Darkly handsome Steve is easy on the eyes, but my eyes are mainly on El Fuego, whose chipper attitude and seemingly effortless submission holds have fascinated me to no end since his UCW debut in 2018, and he's a lot sharper now than he was two years ago. But the match is by no means one-sided. The ways these hombres work off each other is amazing.
