Beat the Pants Off Him

El Fuego vs Jessie Lee vs Jason Anders, Match 801: Strip Elimination Match (UCW)

UCW is at its best when, as here, it goes batshit crazy. The three-man contest has one goal - be the guy who still has his pants on when the battle is over. Jason and Jessie and El Fuego clamber over each other, ripping and stripping and punching in hopes of being the last man with his cock and ass covered at the end. This strikes me as the perfect party game - rough-and-tumble chaos that gets two of these guys nekkid.  That also means not just one but two guys get beat up in the process - and even the winner doesn't escape unscathed.

This is the kind of rowdy fun that UCW excels at. I don't think there's any other promotion that can get away with this stuff, not just get away with it but also maintain the air of playful insanity for a full 31 minutes with never a lag in the goofball energy. Keeping such a mess entertaining is no easy task. It would be oh so easy to make such a game heavy-handed and tedious. It's also too easy to let clowning get in the way of actually wrestling, and these three guys wrestle nonstop the whole time. Really wrestle.

As usual I'm rooting for El Fuego, though I wouldn't mind seeing him lose his pants someday.
