Process of Elimination

Rex Bedford vs Chase Lundquist vs Ethan Andrews, Roughhouse Ruckus (88Wrestling)

Three of 88's standout wrestlers vie to be last man in the ring in a sweaty, hell-raising two rounder. In Round One, one of the three is submitted and ejected from the squared circle. In Round Two, the remaining two battle to a deadlock and, in the final minutes, don boxing gloves to determine the ultimate victor by knockout.

The three-way holds some interest for me, what with short-term alliances and creative double-teaming, but the one-on-one that whips the last ten minutes into a fine frenzy defines classic, in my opinion. A lesser version of this contest would feature an obvious weakest link, but Rex, Chase, and Ethan are equivalently skilled and dynamic brawlers.

The setup for this match cunningly plays to the company's strengths. 88 has succeeded in identifying its core players over the past year and has put them to excellent use. It has been drawing promising new talent too, but its strong suit is still these three men plus Tanner Hill and Dash Decker, all alumni of Rock Hard Wrestling. 88 is making these five work harder than they ever did at RHW, and the results are intense matches that touch on all the points that make underground wrestling hot - muscles, beauty, agony, sweat, and robust competition.
