Derek Bolt vs Dax Carter, Catalog 13 - The Muscle Boys Never Back Down (MuscleBoy Wrestling)

My favorite MuscleBoy venue is the orange and black wrestling den. It can hold two wrestlers and a camera. The close quarters are conducive to the kind of rough male/male intimacy MuscleBoy stands for. But big men like Dax and Derek need more room to grind. They are ideally suited to the squared circle - in size, in attitude, and in fighting spirit.

I expected Dax to dominate in this match, but Derek more than holds his own against him. The battle hits me in all the right ways in all the right places - man bearing down on man in a ring corner, ropes used to choke, hard wallops and tight clutches, locked arms pushing and shoving. The contest gives both men lots of time to rub up against each other, to use their bulging muscles to squash and knead.

The bumping together of burly bodies was inexplicably erotic for me as a teen, watching wrestling on a tiny TV set, the way other kids stashed Hustler  magazines under their beds. The opening match of Catalog 13 has the same effect, even now that I've wised up to my sexual kinks. With all that heaving muscle on board, I'm surprised that it's Derek's bedroom eyes that dominate so many of the shots. These eyes have a tighter grip than some wrestlers' arms and legs. 

In the end Dax and Derek are stripped down to their wristbands and wrestling shoes. MuscleBoy's brand of brutal seduction is all the more convincing and exciting because of the wrestlers' jutting chests, bellies, butts, and thighs. The overall effect is monumental subjugation - Hercules versus Antaeus all over again. These guys effectively kill the stereotype of slender, effete, and frothy homosexuality. In this match, one of MuscleBoy's best ever, gay love takes more styles and shapes than the world (even much of gay media) has taken in.
