Star Power

Scrappy McNair vs Jeremy Daniels, Catalog 24 - Below the Belt! (MuscleBoy Wrestling)

I can only imagine what it's like to be the object of Scrappy McNair's ferocity. In the beginning of his career, who could have predicted he could become such a suave and callous heel? Scrappy has the face of a Prince Charming, the body of a Greek god, and the soul of an assassin, and his new MuscleBoy match versus Jeremy Daniels is, I sincerely believe, the new pinnacle of underground wrestling. Can the underground ever improve on this one picture-perfect event?

I have commented before on Scrappy's total commitment to his matches. He was a star from his first appearance at Thunders Arena, but other promotions, most importantly MBW, have given him space to develop and perfect his craft while many of his contemporaries are content to wing it from match to match. Every scowl, every twitch of muscle appears to be a deliberate creation of this highly disciplined young wrestler. His work here is not comparable to anybody else's in the underground. He takes the work and his image seriously. Building on what nature and weights gave him, he has achieved a level of art and professionalism few others have taken the trouble to attempt.

Jeremy Daniels bounds into the fight room, ready for action. He taunts Scrappy, asking whether he likes "to play with boys." Scrappy cautions him, saying Jeremy may not like the way Scrappy plays with boys. At first, Jeremy resists McNair's assaults, but with little success. He cannot hold out for long. He becomes a slave to Scrappy's sweaty beauty and rough handling. All of this 36-minute battle - especially the five final minutes - surpasses anything else underground wrestling has produced, with ultra-sweat, ultra-aaarghs, ultra-attitude, and ultra-convincing punishments.

Let's be honest: This fight blasted right through me, hitting every erogenous button along the way. It is a classic.
