Best of the Net

Check out Lutte-Wrestling by Gilles from Paris. If you have not let yourself get lost in Gilles's maze-like accumulation of wrestling imagery, you have not yet begun to explore the erotic iconography of combat. His site has inspired this blog in too many ways to count. The images above are taken from his Gallery 230 (Best of the Net), uploaded in February 2011. No photo credits and only occasional identification of the wrestlers, but mystery and synchronicity are partly what make the site's store of old and new shots of international grappling so mesmerizing for me.
