Wild Wild Wes

Wes Ratchett vs Iceman (Wrestler4Hire)

I have good reason to envy Wes Ratchett. There's his flawless pro wrestling pedigree, there's ten years of steady advancement on the indie circuit, and there's a nearly perfect 5'11" 198# physique on which he flaunts a Sistine Chapel's expanse of tattoo art. I envy him most for this match  because of my affection for Iceman, 5'11" 206#, an underground wrestler whose fighting spirit may outshine his technical abilities, but who nevertheless out-grits everyone he has fought ... except Ratchett. (Let it be remembered that I have nothing but praise for grit and fighting spirit, even among wrestlers with far less than Iceman's mat and ring prowess.)

This is both wrestlers' W4H debut, and it is a stunner. I expected a stereotypical pro-versus-Joe squash, but even severely outclassed, Iceman is not one to just roll over and play dead. The guy is a scrapper through and through. So is Wes, however, and Wes has the added benefit of ring psychology and science, for which Iceman has the instincts but not yet the experience or training. Still the ring drama on display here is sterling - it's not a usual feature at Wrestler4Hire, but this match, I hope, may be a turning point on that score. The heat generated by these two new hires eventually engulfs and incinerates even the ref in the end.

  1. Wes Ratchett. may be the better and more experienced wrestler, but I am a huge fan of Iceman and his 206 pound body is one big turn-on for me. (Wish he'd get a better name for wrestling than Iceman18). He's another wrestler that I would love to climb in the ring, cage, or on the mats with for a bout. Win or lose, it would be amazing to wrestle him in any style match.
