Pound for Pound

Joey McCoy and Nick Flex, Catalog 20 - All Out Brawl! (MuscleBoy Wrestling)

Joey McCoy and Nick Flex all but reinvent the big versus little match. An 80-pound difference in weight means nothing to them. Both are splendidly muscled examples of manhood. Sure, Joey is boyishly adorable, but the guy is a serious brawler. The usually unruffled Nick has his hands full with the smaller guy, and, in response, he cuts the kid no slack.

Most of the match consists of Nick bouncing Joey off the mat. We would expect that. What we don't expect is how often Joey plays offense. He hurls himself at Flex, knowing just one of Nick's arms has the blasting power of McCoy from head to toe. Joey also spends a lot of time wearing Nick out, or letting Nick wear himself out. Durable as he is, McCoy can absorb the bumps, saving his energy for those windows of opportunity to catch Flex with his guard down.

Nick is in excellent form. His thickly muscled body looks better than ever. When he's not scowling, he's grimacing. It doesn't take him long to realize he's dealing with a live wire, and he adjusts his strategy accordingly. Not for an instant does he underestimate Joey's skills and determination. His attacks are designed to cripple and stun, for the lightweight no less than the heavyweights he's previously faced.

Blows dominate, but the wrestlers also choke, stretch, and grind. Speed is the essence of this match. Both wrestlers appear to be thinking three moves ahead at any given moment. A good fighter works from the brain as well as from the biceps, and Nick and Joey are two of the smartest and most instinctive wrestlers on the MBW roster.
