Nux / Coop

Joey Nux vs Austin Cooper, Mat Rats (Wrestler4Hire)

Wrestler4Hire aims for a Movimus vibe here, or so I take it - the focus being on sub wrestling and skin. The grunts, heaving muscle, and thumps are real. At the beginning and the end, the grapplers shake hands to signify their gentlemanly sportsmanship. In between, it all looks pretty messy and off the cuff - like two young daddies wrestling in the grass at a family picnic. (To be crystal clear, I love messy, unscripted fights ... aaand young daddies who wrestle in the grass.)

The roughness of the muscle contact is exactly how I like it. Often intertwined, Joey and Austin scuffle with a sort of casual aggression - like two predatory animals at play, particularly if the animals are Komodo dragons, large, unwieldy, with a potentially dangerous edge. There's nothing rowdy or showoff-y about it. The backroom-style setting adds a little grit to the event.

Joey and Austin seem like guys I would enjoy knowing and hanging with (if I could stop my knees from shaking). There are egos at stake in this match, but there's not much by way of drama. In a chummy sort of way, each would like to choke the other guy out  - and the ending comes close to that - but they're mainly motivated by a desire for good, old-fashioned roughhouse - a great way to spend 20 minutes.
