Chase Addams vs Tiko, Wrestler Spotlight: Chase Addams (BG East)

In this first match of Chase Addams's Wrestler Spotlight, we find Chase and Tiko in the darkened ring room, making out against the wall. Chase flips on the overhead light, revealing the wrestling ring beside them. In the ring, Chase promises the new hire "a real surprise" and then promptly latches him into a rear naked choke. In that fraction of a second, Chase leaps to the top of my list of favorite wrestling heels. But Tiko is a scrapper, as well, and though taken off guard, he is fast to hit back. Thus begins one of the most tumultuous one-night stands in underground wrestling history.

"I will break you," Chase later murmurs into Tiko's ear. "You're gonna have to," Tiko replies. This is no mere pantomime of wrestling. This is brute force exhibited by two cruiserweights who know their way around a wrestling ring. We're talking knuckle-cracking, hair-yanking, elbow-grinding, eyelid-scratching, and skull-stomping violence. Save your cuddling for the kitty cat. You want an intimate moment with either of these two, you're going to have to fight for it. Chase vs Tiko is the latest and perhaps best realization of my idea of a male catfight. I can't stand how excited it makes me.

Chase may be the most exciting bad-boy currently at BG East. He wears his sexuality and his savagery on his sleeve. For him, Jake LaMotta's dilemma in Raging Bull - "He's a nice kid, a pretty kid, I don't know whether to fuck him or fight him" - is easily resolved: Why not both?  His persona combines elements of seventeenth-century cavalier, black mamba, and cage-fighter. In him, lust, alpha drive, and appetite for destruction are seamlessly merged. What makes all this so much better for me is that Tiko does not just roll over and take it. If Chase wants to get in his trunks, Chase is going to have to work for it. 

I won't give it away, but the final line - four words - is about as perfect closure as possible for a match like this. It also sums up everything I feel about wrestling's eroticism.
