The Main Event

Ty Alexander vs Jordi Gabana, Wrestling with Pride 2 (BG East/NewPro Wrestling)

The evening descends quickly into chaos in this main event from May 2nd. The setup occurred earlier in the show as Jordi Gabana confronted former partner, now sworn enemy Ty Alexander. Both are decked out like Chippendales, down to the thongs concealed under their wrestling trunks (though not to be concealed for long). Jordi starts out strong with a set of moves designed to humiliate Ty in front of the packed house of eager fans, including a number of BGE greats like Cole Cassidy, Jonny Firestorm, and Kieran Dunne.

Ty and Jordi are determined to put the "gay" back into gay wrestling, teaching the more straight-oriented and straight-acting stars of the evening how to play to this particular crowd. When he manages to turn the tables on his ex, Ty torments Gabana by wiping his billion-dollar trophy ass across Jordi's crotch and face, much to the fans' amusement and the commentators' consternation (they don't know WHAT to call these moves - they settle on "unusual").

As the match progresses, Ty and Jordi set the high camp aside - temporarily - to exhibit high levels of ring savvy and technical prowess, leading to a clear victory by three-count. The end, right? In your dreams! Jordi and Ty quickly turn on the match's guest referee, emcee Enoch Scott. When they attempt to brain the ref with a double piledriver, stars from earlier in the evening - Kirk, Jaden, Ethan, Tiko, Dimitri, and Cody - rush the squared circle and chase off the bad boys - a fine coda to a show that looks fantastic on DVD (and must have been even better live and in person).

  1. T y Alexander is so much fun to watch. He so completely embraces the homoerotic nature of gay underground wrestling and enjoys the sexual excitement so enthusiastically. I really enjoyed his Tumblr blog, and was sorry to see him close it down, although I understood why and agreed with his reasons. Hopefully he will find a gay underground venue for more wrestling adventures.
