Polished Pros

Watching Caleb Klein and DJ Beckham Jr. go through their paces in the squared circle is like watching a pianist take a played-out warhorse like "Clair de Lune" and bring it to life so that you feel like you're hearing it for the first time. The moves are almost museum pieces, but these guys know how to work them so that I feel taken by surprise even though I've seen the same parry a thousand times or more. The match is about as basic as it can be, yet it's performed to near perfection.

I'm particularly keen on Caleb, who wrestled at my first live wrestling show ever and remembered that show (though not me) some seven years later, when I saw him wrestle Shannon Moore. I'm happy to see a straightforward pro-style match at Wrestler4Hire, especially as rendered by a couple of pros like these two. I'm spared the smack talk and posing, as the wrestlers get to business right away, locking fingers in a test of strength and then moving on to side headlocks, armbars, and chokes.

By the midpoint of this 22-minute event, shoulders and pecs are glowing with sweat. The sound of their boots on the ring floor seems to bounce off the walls. There are no screaming fans to drown out the sounds of muscle slapping against muscle or the grunts of the wearying battlers. There's something to be said for the energy a live crowd brings to a match, but it's also kinda nice to watch these two polish their craft just for the camera.

  1. This video is gold. It's like watching a live match from a very close, even intimate angle. Probably one of the best from W4H.

    1. This match really is some of the Best that W4H offers!
We get two popular indy pros in close quarters giving it all for the win.
Caleb has been a favorite of mine for several years now and I’m hoping his star will rise (again) with his work on the new “NWA PoweRR”.
I ave had my eye on “DJ” for awhile now as well and he shines in this match against Caleb.

“Underground” wrestling always seems to give up little other than squashes but to see pros of this caliber in this setting without a (idiotic) crowd and great camera work is perfection.

Another match of similar caliber on W4H is “Guido” vs “Teddy Trouble” for those who are tired of the typical rote "squash" as I am.
