Scores Settled

Logan Scion vs Sky Davis, Scores Settled (Can-Am)

The room is brightly lit, but the color scheme is murky. The mat is black. The lockers are Dr. Phibes purple. Logan enters, interrupting Sky's stretches, and the two engage in the sort of back talk that fans of underground wrestling know by heart. "Do you know how to wrestle?" "I'm the best wrestler out there." "Well, let's get this started." (Condensed version.)

Sky is a mix of pretty boy (the haircut) and tough guy (the Etch-A-Sketch chest and arms). He's beautiful and he knows it and he's in the mood to wrestle. His muscles and the fit of his low-cut red briefs invite an attack. He's highly wrestleable. Ruddy, buzz-cut Logan is slightly more my idea of what a wrestler looks like. As the 46-minute match revs up, he and Sky both clearly get  wrestling, judging by my boner.

There isn't much "story" to this match beyond a horn-locking of two competitive males. It's more a progression of punishments, cunningly executed by both guys. They trade turns at being the punisher, but Logan's a wee bit better at it. He's cocky and fluently brutal - then, how could he not be when faced with a tempting morsel like Sky?

The camera does a fine enough job recording the face-off. It even zooms in for key moments of the contest. The lighting catches each wince and twitch. The holds include my favorites - headlocks, armbars, bear hugs, figure-fours (including a statuesque combo with a chin clutch - see the second GIF below), and two S/M faves: forearm strikes and nut-wrenching.

My GIF selections focus on Scion dominating Davis. Scion's were the more riveting punishments, which Davis appears to invite and sells beautifully. Logan gets to suffer, too - just not in this blog post.
