The Minotaur

Dax Carter vs Spencer Hawkins, Catalog 17 - The Muscle Boys Call the Shots (MuscleBoy Wrestling)

This is a classic black trunks vs pink match, a square-off between opposite sides of the masculinity divide. MuscleBoy describes it as a "mismatch of bull vs boy." I see that. I can almost see steam billowing out of Carter's nostrils and ears. Neither wrestler is the fashion model type. Hawkins, in contrast to the Minotaur Dax, exudes an odd blend of local hero and local menace. He's sort of the sociopath version of Opie Taylor.

For me, their orneriness and toughness are enough. If they were conventionally pretty, they might hold back from the roughhouse and not throw themselves so spiritedly into it. For erotic punch, a raw, pitiless fight outweighs a handsome profile. The pairing reminds me of a 2017 Wrestler4Hire match - Genatto vs Bennett - but better developed (26 minutes vs 19) with a more pugnacious "boy," Spencer being tougher than Cal Bennett, who was, instead, heartbreakingly beautiful. (I would enjoy watching Hawkins dismantle Bennett someday.)

Amid the match's grand gestures, there's also detail work - the sort of close attention to damaging one's opponent that separates the sadist from the bargain-basement bully. A key moment in the match has Spencer retrieving a broken lace from his pink boot and using it to choke Dax, in retaliation for Carter's camel clutch earlier. These pinpoint gestures reveal the malice to be personal, made to order, not the autopilot punishments one sees nine times out of ten.
