Almost nobody in underground wrestling - the exceptions that spring to mind being
Genatto and
Cole, both indie wrestlers - fights with Mark Haskins's ingenuity and vehemence. His Norseman physique (5'10", 209#) and unruly hair complement his berserker style of assault and conquest. Haskins first appeared in this blog in 2011 on a list of
Tough Brits, having grabbed my attention the year before. The following five matches epitomize his style.
Mark Haskins vs Martin Kirby, Defiant #6 - 11 December 2017 (Defiant Wrestling)
| Kneepad to Martin Kirby's chin |
| Snapping Martin's supraspinatus |
| Tenderizing the pectorals |
Mark Haskins vs Austin Aries, International Battle Royale - 29 April 2018 (IPW:UK)
| Aries saved (for now) by the bottom rope |
| Haskins has gradually replaced speed and acrobatics with mastery of the tenaciously long hold |
| Like a dog on a bone |
Mark Haskins vs the Anti-Fun Police, Defiant Loaded #7 - 5 January 2019 (Defiant Wrestling)
| A team of one |
| Berserker mode |
| An arm bar for two - many attempt such bravura without Mark's savoir-faire |
Mark Haskins vs PAC vs Kip Sabian, IPW #6 - 20 February 2019 (IPW:UK)
| Action PAC'd |
| Crab and Camel on Kip Sabian and PAC at the same time |
All of these matches are great choices but that last one is fire (...and I usually dont care for "three-ways") ...
ReplyDeleteWe agree on three-ways ... and exceptions to the rule
DeleteI usually don't like long hair on dudes, but this guy is uber hot. I think it's his attitude and aggression. The above matches were great. Seeing him make Austin Aries tap out finished me off. He seems like a major indie wrestler, yet I never heard of him 'til now. Thanks, Joe!
ReplyDeleteHaskins is hot, and you're right that it's attitude and aggression
