Kayden Keller vs Nino Leone, Grudge Match VI (BG East)

Grudge Match VI  offers the usual triptych of three matches but adds the angle of three grapplers in the ring at once. The first match is one-on-one, the deadly Kayden Keller poised against the adorable Nino Leone. The combination is hot, but there are no surprises … yet. Kayden schools Nino in the art of heelery - the School of Hard Knocks - and then pushes him in the ring with Mason Brooks. It's a lot like the way a lion trains a cub to hunt and kill.  In this case, the prey may be a little too big - and too wily - for the cub.

Nino Leone (with Kayden Keller) vs Mason Brooks, Grudge Match VI (BG East)

There are surprises in the second match I will try not to divulge, but the photos below do give away some of them, but not the key twist. As you can see Brooks is too much wrestler for little Leone to handle at first. Kayden glowers at the side of the ring, increasingly irritated by the sight of all his hard work on Nino going to waste. Mason has a field day mopping the mat with his opponent's hairy chest. He gloats - maybe a little too much - on how easy it is to beat up Nino. It's a matter of fate that Kayden is going to get involved - but when? and how?

Ace Aarons and Zip Zarella vs Gunner Baer, Grudge Match VI (BG East)

The third match advances the theme with three men in the ring almost from the start. Ace and Zip are slated to fight each other to settle the bad blood between them. Naively Gunner interferes, convinced he can battle both heels, an obvious act of hubris. That's all you probably need to know. The combined ring skills of Zarella and Aarons far outweigh any advantage Baer's muscle gives the intruder. They don't need to tag in and out. Instead, they virtually rip Gunner apart, both sides at once.

There are no twists to speak of in the first match. Although I have kept mum in this post, the surprise elements of the second and third matches are divulged in the advertising copy on the BG East site. If you want to be surprised, I suggest you buy the DVD without reading it or looking at the posted photos. Spoilers don't usually bother me. The story matters less to me than the action, and the action in these matches is tasty - especially, for me, the sight of Baer drawn and quartered by Aarons and Zarella..
