Vic Silver vs Brian Cade, Arena 22 (BG Enterprise)

Vic Silver fought a lot of BG and Can-Am wrestlers, most notably Beau Hopkins, Cliff Conlin, Jimmy Royce, and Johnny Lightning. I'm not sure how Vic earned his nickname "The Mongoose" - a natural enemy of snakes that was worshipped in some ancient cultures but is banned in the United States. Perhaps he earned the epithet because he shares the animal's destructive instincts. Fury is Silver's best weapon. He can shift from academic wrestler to superhero to heel in the blink of an eye.

To my knowledge, this 1993 match is the only one Brian Cade fought. Like most of Silver's opponents, he is inches taller (six, to be exact) and pounds (fifteen) heavier. This is a two-out-of-three-fall match that goes to the limit. The smart money is on the older and more experienced Vic, but at times he depends too much on the husky youth's inexperience and leaves himself open to attack. The pretense of vulnerability could be a trick to get Brian to let down his defenses, but, if so, the tactic misfires at least once. Vic's mercurial nature - coolheaded to hottempered in seconds flat - keeps his opponents guessing. In the course of a 22-minute match, he transitions from a scientific wrestler to a rageoholic, tearing into Cade like a lion ripping a zebra's leg off - or a mongoose tearing the head off a king cobra.
