Lightweights

So close in height and weight, Wolfboy and Deleon are no less close in grappling skills. They wrestle neck and neck. They are so well matched that neither scores a point on the other until two-thirds of the way through the video. Even then, the score is tied less than a minute later. The match is fast even while the wrestlers lay hold of each other in a limited space, constrained by muscle binding muscle.

The match is amazing because of its spontaneity. A lot of underground matches give us what we have seen before. Effort is given to meet fans' expectations of the wrestlers and the promotion, so we get the moves and holds that we have liked in the past. In some cases, the match has to work within the limited capabilities of one or both wrestlers. No such limitations exist with these two men. Sunny and John give us what they've got in answer to the immediate situation, which gives us a match pronouncedly unlike any we have seen before.

I have come to expect nothing but excellence and originality from Wolfboy on the wrestling mat. In his third NHB F match, Deleon proves he is worth his salt against an adversary who has a take-no-prisoners approach to the sport. Their similarity in size and build, along with their finetuned instincts and ample training, makes the match more interesting than most, and the performance speed is such that I had to rewind and rewatch to take in all that I had seen.
