Out for Blood

Project MONIX vs Isaias Velazquez, War Is Inevitable (Freelance Wrestling)

This December of  2019 match takes so many turns it's impossible to predict a winner. Thanks to Project MONIX's clearing (temporarily) the room of Isaias Velazquez's gang of thugs. only two men are in the ring, which gives any prediction a 50-50 chance of being right. Things get messy fast, messier than I usually feel comfortable with, and a little too elaborate for my tastes, especially in the "Anything Goes!" match's last half.

Velazquez and MONIX - whose names are indispensable in a game of Scrabble - are well matched and hot as firecrackers.  MONIX, aka Pat Monix, is bigger and heavier than his opponent, but Velazquez is bullet fast - and he has friends lurking right outside the door. The bloodiness is not a draw for me, though I can put up with it. It's unquestionably a turn-on for some fans. I like both men's faces, so the "crimson mask" (thank you, Gordon Solie!) is an unwanted distraction.

I could say the same for MONIX's long tights, which hide his thighs. In that respect, Velasquez's trunks are just right. Both MONIX and Velazquez are Chicago natives, who have shared the ring on numerous occasions, at least once as teammates (in 2018). Velazquez has ten years' more experience than MONIX, who first entered the ring in 2016.
