Iceman Johnson vs Drew Harper, Catalog 24 - Below the Belt (MuscleBoy Wrestling)

This match between Iceman and Drew is in oil, Iceman's follow-up to his oil match against Cash Kellogg in the previous catalog. I missed this one somehow, but better late than never. On just its second try, again MuscleBoy proves it can put on a taut, serious (non-goofy) match in oil. The camera is always in the right place at the right time. The battle is vigorous, escalating from one slippery act of aggression to the next, climaxing with a hyper-realistic choke-out at the end. Guys, this one squeezed something out of me that needed squeezing out.

As much as I like Drew Harper, my eyes were on Iceman the whole time. With his slicked-back blond hair (super-slicked-back in oil) he reminds me of hot blond wrestlers of early television wrestling - "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers and Ray Stevens. Iceman is way hotter than those guys while being just as much fun to watch in action, proving that 1950s wrestling does not have dibs on "classic." Seventy years from now, Iceman and his dramatic energy will be measures of what 2020s underground wrestling was all about.
