Go for Broke
Christian Thorn vs Travis, NHB Fights (Wrestler4Hire)
Two extraordinarily handsome men wrestling freestyle on a mat - my idea of perfect happiness. The demand for these two men in particular could not be higher in underground wrestling than it is right now, and this pairing of them in 2020 is almost too good to be true. Travis is the bigger and heavier of the two, but the less experienced. Here he shows more skill, fight, resilience, and confidence than most rookies, in particular, pretty-boy rookies like him. He's butting heads with Christian, though, probably the most dynamic wrestler in the underground scene. Is Travis ready to take on a fighter like Christian?
Over the past year Travis has shown more grit than the average new underground wrestler. The guy is not especially interested in riding on the merits of his physique and newness. He takes chances. He's got a ways to go before he reaches the top tier, but he is not making the rookie mistake of resting his reputation on his muscle and good looks alone. He appears to be taking wrestling seriously enough to do more than strike poses. Stepping on a wrestling mat proclaims his commitment to authentic wrestling.
Christian Thorn is at last gaining the respect and opportunities he deserves. A four-year veteran, Christian first caught my eye at Movimus, where he wrestled under another name. A year later he hooked up with Wrestler4Hire and has steadily built a reputation as a tireless grappler who knows no fear in taking on much stronger and meaner wrestlers. His record of wins may not be as impressive as his charisma, but he cannot be accused of ever phoning in a match. Unreserved and willing to grapple for real, he brings more to the mat than most other underground wrestlers do.
