White-bread hunk Cole Karter defends his LDN World Title against Jason Hotch, formerly Jason Page. The contrast between the two is clear - with a hairy chest and a butt that could double as an ottoman, Hotch is as tricky as he is durable, and the dirty tricks (including the traditional handshake-kick-to-the-gut) lead Karter to ditch his nice-guy manners to kick some heel ass - if he can.
Cole is 21, his ring career just a year old. These are tough times for launching a wrestling career, but the West Virginian, appropriately nicknamed The Thoroughbred, looks like he's doing all right. He picked up his LDN World Championship in June, defeating Steve Gibki in New York City. Twenty-four-year-old Hotch of Toledo holds a number of championships. He seems good-natured, but it's all show. He likes to catch opponents with their guard down, and then he is merciless. He's terrific flying off the ring ropes - check out that impressive flight in the last GIF above.
The stunts are crisp and resounding. Even a slightly botched finisher (not shown - no spoilers here) is deftly recovered. The flub actually lends the whole match an ex post facto veneer of authenticity.
