Brandon Karson vs Elijah, Fight 16 (Black Wrestling Network)

Think finding a good personal assistant is hard these days? Brandon Karson, in silver trunks with black trim, wrestles for one in this match. Elijah, in olive green, is the intended recruit, but he's already Candyman's trophy boy. On an unstoppable (thus far) winning streak, Brandon dares to challenge cocky strongman Elijah to a fight. If Brandon wins, Elijah is his. The premise alone gets me hard.

Elijah looks amused by the whole situation. Bigger and stronger than Brandon, he can't stop smiling as the two men stare each other down at the video's opening. He shoves his chest to Brandon's, pushing him back slightly. The two tussle. Brandon succeeds in taking Elijah down, but he can't keep him down. Soon the fight is even, or appears so. Elijah looks winded just a minute into the match. He gets Brandon in a choke and bears down on him. 

The situation changes rapidly. This is a wild and unchoreographed fight. I can be fooled, but I swear this looks like real wrestling from start to finish. It's exciting, spontaneous, and unpredictable. Brandon and Elijah throw everything they've got into it. Only the storyline smacks of artifice. On that point, there's some irony and echoes of the past. Brandon was held captive, too, a few years ago.

The high-stakes story arc adds tension and caveman brutality to the contest. High-speed wrestling in the first half wears both men down for the last half. A sweaty, pained struggle ultimately decides Elijah's fate.
