Austin Tyler vs Corey Turner, Catalog 29: Erotic Brutality! (MuscleBoy Wrestling)

Austin Tyler is stoic - virtually unreadable - from beginning to end. He doesn't work from rage. He is a punishment machine, no more involved with emotion and feeling than a steamroller. He rolls over Corey because that's what he's paid to do. Even if Corey acted out the badger-boy gimmick, Austin's step-by-step dismembering of him would be neither gentler nor rougher. Does he enjoy his work? Who knows? I hope he does because it's damn good work. 

Just as interesting is Corey Turner's endurance of his punishment. He defends himself - or occasionally attempts to defend himself - with neither fear nor vengefulness. He's hardly a lamb taken to slaughter, though. He would probably love to do to Tyler what Tyler is doing to him. He even tries. Nevertheless, he is resigned to the role he's been given and plays the part. His underselling of the pain has a sort of dignity to it, but a hunted animal's dignity, not a martyr's. 

All this can't help but be sexy. There's nothing overtly erotic about the match. Both wrestlers keep their pants on, and no lascivious looks are exchanged. I don't find this match monotonous or tedious, despite its seeming one-sidedness and lack of theatrical flourishes. I get the sense that Tyler and Turner are not only performers. They are their own audience as well.  They are involved with the match, not even playing to an audience, though they do take care to make sure the camera catches everything that needs catching. They are mainly involved with each other, reading each other with great care. They act, and they take in what they are doing. And Tyler does all but skin and gut Turner.
