Sidlicious

Ray Mousi (in burgundy trunks) returns to the Movimus mat, taking on "Sadistic" Sid Shaw (in white) in his second match for the company. This is a tight match between competitors close in height and weight. Both are wily wrestlers - "for-real" wrestlers, too - who at times assume poses you have seen in Roman statues. This is real wrestling, though, not just posing or horsing around.

Mousi stays on top of Shaw for much of the first half of the match, but top does not always mean "in control," as demonstrated when "Sadistic" Sid wins the first fall, shy of the halfway mark. It's a hard struggle, but Sid makes it look easy to counter Ray's slight (eight-pound) weight advantage. The GIFs capture some of the battle's intensity. Sid is good at twisting Ray's powerful arms as if they were pipe cleaners.

The match lasts for three falls. Ray uses his weight to tire his opponent, but Sid is hard to tire. Though never straying from the rules of fair and gentlemanly fighting, Ray and Sid have no problem inflicting pain if that's what it takes to win. Nothing too nasty, mind you, but making the other guy suffer, even just a little, is one of the joys of wrestling, no less on a mat for real than in a steel cage for show.
