Chandler Hopkins vs Moonshine Mantell, Enter the Melee (New Texas Pro Wrestling)
Thank you, Rory! You told me this 2019 match was classic and you were right! My awareness of "Young Gun" Chandler Hopkins goes back just a week, but he's already an obsession. Here he takes on burly wild man Moonshine Mantell. The malicious moonshiner goes low from the start, attacking Chandler from behind, bludgeoning him against the turnbuckle, slamming him headfirst to the center of the ring, straddling and clobbering him, and then turning his dead eyes to the outraged fans, inviting their outrage.
It takes at least half the match for Chandler to mount an offensive, but weakened by one rage-fueled blast after another, can he turn the match to his advantage? The fans are certainly on Chandler's side, but Mantell eats their hatred and turns it into even higher levels of hostility. The punishments are relentless. Soon both men are soaked in sweat - be sure that on that point I have no complaint. Outside the ring Mantell seats Hopkins in a front-row seat and batters him right under the noses of the panic-stricken fans. He tops it off by hanging Hopkins upside down on the top rope like meat in a butcher's shop, delivering a karate hand strike to the cowboy's chest.
And you are right, Rory, it IS "hot as fuck"!

Thanks for this recommendation. I have loved both wrestlers for years (particularly Mantell), but was unaware of this match between them.
ReplyDeleteLoving this string of indie reviews you've been doing lately! Chandler checks off my country wrestling stud in denim box, and Mantell....sheesh...what a hot slab of beef! Was so happy to see both of them make appearances on AEW Dark matches somewhat recently

There's lots of his matches on you tube so hope you enjoy exploring the sufferings of your new cowboy fantasy. Like with all wrestling vids you need to weed out the ones with too far away cameras etc but there are still a lot of hot ones. Some of the best were part of longer shows so I downloaded the whole episode and then record his match and delete the rest. The ones for SWE and Viral Pro wrestling usually have their 'moments'!
