Jax Holland vs Brian Hollister, Match 3 (Movimus Wrestling)

My capacity to understand technology is comparable to my dog's songwriting talents, so here is Movimus's brief but clear explanation of their recent restorations of some of the company's pre-2010 videos:

"As you may not be aware, we have been working on this project to enhance our classic matches to bring them up to date. Many of our matches filmed before 2010 were filmed in standard definition (which is about 640 x 480px). The 480 pixels translate to about 480 horizontal lines which was what old cathode ray tvs back then were able to transmit. When we moved to HD, the horizontal lines increased to 1080.

"Anyway, not to bore you with the details. So the exciting thing we are doing is using an AI engine to enhance many of our old matches that were filmed in SD then and we are upscaling them to HD. Not all upscaling will be successful, but the ones that did, we are pretty happy with the results. We also improved on the color and our goal is to breathe new life into these old matches.

"As the AI algorithms improve, we may try bringing them to 4K resolution."

Movimus sent me some restored matches to test drive - and WOW! The images are sharp and luxurious. I fear the GIFs above do not do them full justice. This third match pitting Jax Holland in blue trunks versus Brian Hollister in red is a diamond brought to light from its carbon days. The match features real competitive wrestling, but the fuzzy edges and dingy coloration of the original video are gone. Now it glistens.

Movimus says a soft launch is in the works but expects to make "a more major announcement sometime next week."
