My BGE Scrapbook
This is kind of a sideways tribute to Kid Leopard at BG East. He was born on this day (the Ides of March) in nineteen-something. Obviously, I'm not up on the bio. Without Kid Leopard, there would have been no BG East, other wrestling promotions might never have happened, this blog might never have happened, and even if it had happened, it would not be what it is. The matches are my picks - my personal favorites through the years, beginning not just well before this blog but well before blogging, period. As in most things at Ringside, my tastes do not necessarily reflect visitors' tastes, but, as always, I invite you to leave your preferences in Comments. Several classic BG favorites of mine shown in your post: Mike Columbo, Wade Cutler, Mikey Vee, and Dante Rosetti to name my top wrestlers. My all-time favorite BG wrestler is Dick Rick, though. I wonder if BG has more of his matches to release so I may turn over more of my cold, hard cash?
ReplyDeleteI used to have nearly the entire collection of the printed B &W catalogs and a good set of the VHS matches.
ReplyDeleteBass Wallace and Justin Fiori, 2 objects of my affection when we were all twenty somethings, i have been dragging my VHS tapes of those releases from Boston, to LA to San Antonio, like a well worn book, i can't seem to part with them, hopefully BGE will release them in a restored digital format
ReplyDeleteI remember ordering BG matches on paper from a catalog and anxiously awaiting the VHS tapes to arrive in the mail. Of course, since I came from a large close-knit family I had to rent a PO box to have them delivered without detection, LOL
ReplyDeleteI also remember watching a match between Terry Reed and Trevor Steele. It was the first time I ever witnessed a "face-to-crotch" headscissors! (I never saw that on pro wrestling, LOL) Anyway, that completely blew me away, I must have watched it 500 times, and it is to this day my favorite hold.
