Michel Chaisne vs Pierre Bernaert, 11 July 1957 (Wrestling in Paris)

Statuesque Michel and blond firecracker Pierre are natural enemies. Michel wants an honest fight. Pierre takes every opportunity to chuck fair play for the joys of kidney punches, hair pulling, and crotch jabbing. Pierre is definitely a heel, but a better word for him is "brat." Michel does all he can do to subdue Pierre, whose wiliness often gets the better of the gentlemanly babyface - and the ref.

Chaisne wrestled mainly in France, but he had bouts in the UK, Spain, and Germany, too. Bernaert wrestled almost exclusively in France.

Virtue wins out in the end, but then war breaks out again when Pierre fakes a congratulatory handshake just to get close enough to sucker punch Michel. Pierre gets tangled up in his long entrance robe in the scuffle, which is pretty cool in a messy sort of way. The ref manages to pull the two hotheads apart. Pierre takes a licking twice. He has it coming, and he gets it.
