Brett Mycles vs Lance Storm, Storm Fighter (Can-Am/Jet Set)

This match rose from the crack between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Lance (in darker blue trunks) is walking from the showers, towel in hand, when he runs into Brett. Brett's pissed that Lance and Curt Baldwin, Lance's competition in the first half of this story, wrestled on Brett's mats. Brett gives Lance two options: wrestle or take a beating - not a big difference between the options, given Mycles' muscles and taste for mischief.

Had Mycles lived longer (he died in his sleep of heart failure on February 25, 2007, at age 29), he might have built a bigger legacy in underground wrestling. In this match, he shows a flair for roughhouse comedy. Once he became comfortable in the camera's gaze, he exhibited a big brother's delight in harassment, stopping short of bullying but enjoying giving an opponent a hard time, especially a cocky one like Lance.

This is more horseplay than competitive wrestling. I ordinarily like wrestling to be serious, melodramatic even, with sadism in its veins. I love horseplay, too - between buddies, between partners as a kind of foreplay. It's rowdy fun and a good excuse to toy with a willing opponent's body.
