How to Deadlift a Tank

Steve D vs Tank (Wrestler4Hire)

This is a David and Goliath match done right. For one thing, it gets the outcome of the biblical tale right - David conquers Goliath. Many David-and-Goliath angles have the big guy trouncing the little guy. Not in the Good Book. For another thing, Steve is assigned a list of tasks, which he fulfills. This "story" - Joseph Campbell's "road of trials" - has mythological roots, for instance, in the labors of Hercules.

A couple of articulate comments on the Wrestler4Hire page persuaded me to check this video out. Steve D faces a string of challenges, and he performs them. Tank is a burly weightlifter. Steve must put the big man in a series of classic wrestling holds - bearhug, fireman's carry, and so forth. The tasks are not easy, but that's the nature of tests in life and in fantasy. Although there is nothing overtly erotic or violent here, Steve's stony and unreadable face throughout the contest moves me. The kid - obviously no weakling - does what he has to do with the simplicity and resolve of a monk.

I find the ritualized body contact here sexy, even without competition as a driving force. I shouldn't be surprised since I am hypnotized by shirtless joggers and construction workers with no plot or angle. Obviously, I prefer a good and equal fight - but Steve's strength and endurance are arousing. Tank offers no resistance or retribution - what would be the point? Steve's determination and strength carry the storyline, such as it is. In the end, Steve "binds" Tank in cords with no resistance. The W4H product description uses the word "humiliation." I don't see that here, but I'm okay with it just as it is.

  1. I want to like Stevie D so bad but the matches I've seen of him have just not been good at all. This seems like it might suit him better. Maybe I will give him one more shot

    1. I don't mind if you're not a fan. There are plenty of wrestlers to choose from. A person can't help liking or disliking. I think it's subjective. I like Stevie, and I did it without trying. I see no harm in having preferences of one's own - or even in disliking stuff other people are crazy about (and vice versa).

    2. To be fair, I thought his match with Van Acker at Thunder's was really good!

  2. Is he "wrestling" while wearing a dexcom blood sugar monitor. Sorry, my suspension of disbelief just can't stretch that far.

    1. I wrestle with my Dexcom on. Not at all unbelievable. In fact, I love seeing a type 1 represented and wish he had more videos.
