Devin vs Michael Crowe, Battlespace 3B (Thunders Arena)

Dave, a friend of Skull Island's, recommended this vintage match from Thunders Arena. It is a one and only for slim, smooth Michael Crowe, who takes on bodybuilder Devin and doesn't fare badly at all. Crowe is fit and handsome in the style of a tennis player or a Silicon Valley software mogul, and Devin is made of iron and perhaps the more experienced wrestler. I'm not sure when this match popped up in the Arena, but my guess is it was quite a while ago, back when Thunder's included an apostrophe.

Both men introduce themselves. First, Devin - with a perfect torso - spits out angry threats, claiming the other Arena wrestlers run from him, intimidated by his muscle and wrestling savvy. Then, Michael, somebody who is NOT running away, lists his experience in magazines Playgirl, Men, and Mandate and online at Randy Blue. Then he promises to whup some bodybuilder ass.

The two lock up in a mat room. After a brief struggle, Devin takes Michael down to the mat, but Michael reverses, climbing atop his beefy adversary. The two pant heavily, muscle slapping against muscle. Michael proves to be the nimbler of the two and soon traps Devin in a standing double nelson. Devin drops to the mat, rolls backward through Michael's legs, and snaps Michael into the nelson.

The holds are sustained longer than usual, and the heavy breathing adds to the tone of the match. The match has old-school charm, not noticeably scripted and bristling with skin-on-skin locks. The Playgirl model holds his own against the bodybuilder, and the wrestling is rich in crotch-to-crotch struggles and loud, raspy chokes. In the end, the handsome model forces the bodybuilder to tap out of a very tight Boston crab hold.
