Pain and ecstasy are closer to each other than people realize. In the first GIF, Jack may be mocking Luke's discomfort or, overplaying his hand, daring him to do something about it. Or both. Punishment can be a turn-on. You tease to get a reaction. You may be, quite literally, "asking for it." 

One of my happiest memories from decades ago was reading a book in bed, when my partner (now ex) came out of the shower, still dripping wet with just a face towel wrapped around his waist.
