Kirk Donahue vs Jason Aleqsander, Gazebo Grapplers 24 (BG East)

Gazebo Grapplers 24 brings us a model setup of opposites, consistent with BG East's most popular types - heel versus babyface, veteran versus newcomer, and man versus youth. Both stand tall at 5'10", but Donahue is somewhat heavier. Jason arrives with a reputation as a tough fighter. Kirk has more experience.

Donahue vs Aleqsander is a good and even match. Jason is sharp and agile, and he immediately gets the advantage before Kirk knows what hit him. Kirk fights back, butting heads and trampling the fallen newcomer. Jason demonstrates his potential, but then Kirk comes down hard on him, revealing the newcomer's vulnerability. The lesson to be learned here is "If you bring a man down, make sure he stays down." This is a script we have seen many times, particularly at BG East - wily experience bludgeoning raw talent. But Jason Aleqsander is not done with Donahue.

Try as he might - and he throws his full weight behind the hold - Kirk cannot get Jason to submit, no matter how much pressure he puts into a lengthy figure-four headlock. Jason holds out, and he's ready for more. Sensing it's time to up his game, Donahue wedges Aleqsander's head between his knees and slams his knuckles to the kid's spine. Jason calls Kirk a dirty fighter. Kirk contends he's fighting fair and square. 

Aleqsander hurls Donahue out of the gazebo and then jumps on him, slamming Kirk's face into a tree trunk. It's a brilliant act of bravura on Jason's part, but Kirk is quick to retaliate. He seizes the youngster and wears him down, bearing down on Jason, showing no pity. Can Jason turn this match around? He is losing energy fast, and he's facing one of BGE's wiliest heels. It doesn't look like this is going to be Aleqsander's day - or is it?
