Lobo Gris vs Tyson the Hammer, Destroying Abs - Match 865 (UCW)

I would suspect that this is a customized match, requested by a fan obsessed with abs and more abs, except that UCW usually labels its custom matches. The 27-minute match is so keen on its one theme that there are no reversals - Lobo is always the attacker, and Tyson is always the victim. With each new round, Lobo refines his approach until he's ready to go in for the kill. The storyline might be UCW's equivalent of Groundhog Day, with Lobo in the Bill Murray role.

Tyson shows off his washboard abs, and Lobo is suitably impressed. Lobo's abs are less pronounced, yet Tyson praises them as a work in progress. The tone is friendly, at first. Then, Lobo launches a string of attacks, all of them aimed at Tyson's abs. Caught off guard by Lobo's forcefulness, Tyson is slow to defend himself. In fact, he doesn't lift a finger to defend himself, either because he is in a state of shock after Lobo's initial attack or because he is intentionally submitting himself to the gray wolf's mastery.

Maybe Lobo is making a point. Maybe Lobo is telling us fans that technique and speed surpass gym-built brawn. It's a point he has made in previous matches. Maybe Lobo resents Tyson's condescending tone, though I got the impression that the Hammer was sincere in complimenting Gris. At any rate, Lobo Gris lays Tyson down flat on the mat and launches a merciless assault that catches the former champ off guard and renders him inexplicably submissive to Lobo's power. The bulge up front on Tyson's bright red trunks indicates, on some level, that the former champ welcomes Lobo's heated onslaught.

  1. Lobo looked like he was enjoying every minute. Tyson sold the pain really well. At times, when it got a little repetitive I just admired Tyson bod. He is my favorite wrestler at UCW.
