James Pharrell vs Jack Landers, 9 September 2023 (WrestleForce TV)

James Pharrell looks like an assistant principal at a high school. I'm not sure why that comparison floats into my head. Maybe because he knows how to put a hefty, longhair teenager in his place, like this battle last month in Orsett. Neither athlete is pegged as a heel or babyface, but Jack Landers and Pharrell both like to play rough. The rougher the better. Both operate within the rules, but both like to deliver pain, especially in response to receiving pain.

Pharrell's techniques remind me of Zack Sabre, Jr. Both are slim, but deceptively adept at wringing out a submission from upstarts who don't realize whom they are dealing with. Landers, at nineteen, shows great promise in this match. His acrobatics have style and are believable as fight tactics. This match takes place on the canvas, against the ropes, and outside among the ticketholders. The battle is neck and neck until a blast of energy snags one of these grapplers in an airtight and merciless armbar, forcing a submission amid a lot of pleading and gasping for air.
