Nathan FX vs Dio Characi, Undagear 37 (BG East)

Most of my favorite BG East matches happen on the mat. The gazebo and especially the Wrestle Shack are holy ground. In Undagear 37, Nathan FX squares off against Brazilian heartthrob Dio Characi in the more conventional mat room in South Florida, a shrine I actually visited some five or so years ago. A typical BGE contest, Nathan and Dio strip off each other's gear down to nil.

Nathan's lean good looks are sexy in and out of singlets. Recently, he has catapulted to the top tiers of BGE stardom, in part for his looks, but also for his dry wit and top-notch grappling skills. The standouts are his poolside romp with Rocky Sparks (Glamour Shoot 2) and swimming pool fight with Kirk Donahue (Wet & Wild 10). Slim as he is, he's a tiger on a wrestling mat.

Dio Characi is burly and slow moving, often relying on his weight advantage to crush slim wrestlers like Nathan. I suspect his name is a tribute to Brazil and the characids that populate tropical South American rivers. His star power as a wrestler drew immediate attention in his Hunkswrestling debut early last year. Characi's heft and cool laidback demeanor have made him a popular challenge in underground wrestling.

Grappling is a horizontal sport and something of an equalizer in wrestling, placing beefcake and slim challengers on par on the mat. Give-and-take grappling is a rip-and-strip affair in this match, and for the most part, it provides both men equal advantage. Without playing up its sex appeal, Nathan and Characi are red hot opponents. The catalog description notes that the match is instantaneously steamy and compares it to Characi vs Sparks, recognized as BGE's sexiest match in 2022.
